Dr. Marianna Walker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, College of Allied Health Sciences, East Carolina University. She is also the Director of the Language Science lab which focuses on research in language and literacy. She is a nationally certified and NC licensed speech-language pathologist since 1983. Currently she serves as the President of the ECU Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. Dr. Walker is a Fellow of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA, 2008). She previously served as the Chair and a member of the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists from 2004 to 2011. At the university level, Dr. Walker was Chair of the ECU Faculty from 2009 to 2012 and Dean of the Honors College from 2013-2015.
