It is with profound sadness that we inform you that Meta Downes passed away Wednesday February 24, 2010. Meta served as a friend and colleague in this department for over 30 years. Meta's devotion to her students was unsurpassed. Her legacy will be her family, friends and hundreds of students that she touched in her career.  She was and will remain an inspiration to us all.
