Vascular Surgery Fellowship

The Section of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at East Carolina University has recently been approved as a new two-year program.  The new Vascular and Endovascular Surgery fellowship training is a 5+2 program, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  Applications will be accepted only through ERAS December through January, interviews will occur February through March and match in May through NRMP each year.  One position will be filled each year.

Training will take place at the East Carolina Heart Institute, which is a joint venture between the Brody School of Medicine and Vidant Medical Center (formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital). The institute is comprised of a newly opened state-of-the-art outpatient and inpatient center. The section of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery has full access to modern endovascular suites, contemporary cardiovascular operating rooms and dedicated inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular patient care facilities. The section is supported by a clinical research program, and the fellow will have time and support for research in addition to exposure to all facets of open and minimally invasive Vascular Surgery. The faculty is comprised of five fellowship trained surgeons.

You can learn more about Vidant Medical Center residencies and fellowships including benefits at:

Candidates should have completed an ACGME approved residency program in General Surgery to qualify.

Required documents to be reviewed through ERAS are:
