Dr. Susan G. Sherman received her PhD in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Michigan State University. She earned her a B.S. and M.S. in Rehabilitation Services from Florida State University.

Dr. Sherman's recent publications include co-authoring four articles on Evidence-based Practices in the Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation, 41 (2), 147-163. She currently has a co-authored article on "Evidence-Based Practices in Vocational Rehabilitation: Results of a National Delphi Study" for publication in an upcoming issue of Rehabilitation Counselor Bulletin.

Dr. Sherman began her career in Georgia at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation, where she worked as an Independent Living Counselor; she then became a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in Atlanta; and the 504 & ADA Technical Assistant Coordinator for Georgia Division of Rehabilitation Services. After passage of the ADA, Dr. Sherman became the State of Georgia's first State Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator, in the Governor’s Office and Planning Budget. She eventually left that position to become a District Director and then a Regional Director for the State's Vocational Rehabilitation Program. Dr. Sherman retired from the State of Georgia as the Assistant Vocational Rehabilitation Director.

Dr. Sherman is currently President of the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) Board of Directors. Susan has served as treasurer and board member on the Council on Rehabilitation Education's (CORE). She is a Past President of the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) and a past Switzer Scholar. Dr. Sherman is a graduate of Leadership DHR (Georgia) and Leadership Dekalb (Dekalb County, Georgia) Programs.

In addition to Dr. Sherman having her Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRC), she is also a Certified Public Manager (CPM) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
