Consistent with the Mission Statement
of East Carolina University, the School of Dental Medicine was established to specifically address the shortage of dentists in regions of North Carolina. Accordingly, admission to the Dental Program is limited to individuals who are residents of the State of North Carolina.
As a new institution, the School of Dental Medicine has completed the requirements for initial accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine seeks to recruit, admit, enroll and graduate talented individuals who reflect the diversity of today’s society and who will become leaders in their profession and in their communities.
