Health reform's impact on primary care to be topic of lecture

Dr. James G. Jones, a nationally known family physician, will speak Thursday, Feb. 17, about the implications on health care reform efforts on primary care during a lecture at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Jones’ lecture will begin at 12:45 p.m. in Room 2E-92 of the Brody Medical Sciences Building. The lecture will be Jones’ first at the lecture series that bears his name at the medical school.
Jones was the founding chair of the Department of Family Medicine at ECU and is a former president of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians. A Lumbee Indian, he grew up in Pembroke and was the first American Indian to graduate from the Bowman-Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. He is now retired from practice.
