Annual Health Law Forum set for Sept. 14--CANCELED DUE TO TROPICAL STORM OPHELIA

Medical dean Dr. Cynda Johnson will deliver the keynote address at the 27th annual 14 Health Law Forum Sept. 14 in Greenville.
GREENVILLE, N.C.  (Sept. 9, 2005)  —  The dean of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University will discuss physician board certification during the 27th annual Health Law Forum Sept. 14 at the City Hotel & Bistro in Greenville.

Dr. Cynda Johnson will give the Edward E. Hollowell Distinguished Lecture in Health Law at 1 p.m. Her presentation is titled, "Maintenance of Certification: The New Paradigm for Board Certification."

Also, a panel of physicians and attorneys will present a simulated North Carolina Medical Board hearing at 1:45 p.m. Other presentations will focus on effective practice management, end-of-year review of significant court cases, physicians as witnesses during trials, and the handling of chemically dependant and disruptive physicians.

The daylong forum provides a look at medical and legal issues by noted health care attorneys, physicians and other experts. It is designed primarily for physicians, hospital executives, hospital trustees and health care attorneys.
