From the President
Dear Public Health Students,
Congratulations on your decision to pursue a career in Public Health with East Carolina University! The Public Health Graduate Student Organization (PHO) would like to be the first to welcome you to ECU for the 2009-2010 school year!
East Carolina is a school dedicated to student governance and advocacy. PHO serves as the unified voice of the public health graduate student body at the university, as well as promotes and supports the Department of Public Health in the continuous advancement of its standards. PHO also endeavors to advance students by sponsoring attendance at educational conferences and providing information for various public health opportunities.
PHO strives to not only advance our members in the academic field, but also sponsors numerous social events and community service activities. We are seeking motivated students to become part of our mission. It is our hope that as part our organization, our members can establish community ties essential to being a leader in the field of Public Health.
We are always open for new membership and hope that you will take part in PHO this year. Vice President Brian Loveland, Treasurer Chris Green, Secretary Trey Wright, and I are looking forward to meeting you and working with you this year.
