New website for the East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute

March 7, 2013

The East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute (ECDOI) is getting a whole new look. Soon, we will be physically moving into a world class research facility, which is currently under construction (more on this soon). However, today we are here to show off our brand new digital headquarters. On this site you will find out all about what’s happening at the ECDOI. Look for featured news, research updates, current information on diabetes and obesity in the media, introductions to our faculty, staff, and students, and details about our facilities. We hope you will enjoy the sharp new styling in the look and feel of the website as it dynamically adjusts depending on the size of the device you are using to access. You may also enjoy the expanded resources we will make available for all levels. It is our goal for this site to function as our voice to the world as we continue to investigate various disorders of metabolism.

The ECDOI is well known for cutting-edge collaborative research in several fields related to disorders of metabolism, including bariatric surgery, muscle insulin signaling/glucose transport, bioenergetics/exercise physiology and pediatric healthy weight programs. The mission of the ECDOI is to promote and coordinate interdisciplinary basic and translational research programs in diabetes and obesity, to support the education and training of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students, and to foster the development of outreach prevention/treatment programs for the people of eastern North Carolina. For more information see About the ECDOI.

The old website served us well, but we think the new site be even better. If you have any questions please contact us at anytime. Thank you for your interest in the East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute.
