The purpose of this website is to let students know about upcoming EMIG events at the Brody School of Medicine, to provide links to EM websites, and to better prepare you for entry into the field of Emergency Medicine.

Helicopter MEDEVAC Simulator : November 10th at 12pm

EMIG Accomplishments 2017-2018

  • Participated in Brody's School of Medicine Organization Fair
  • Increased due paying members of the organization from 18 to 41
  • Markedly increased Brody student membership in NCCEP/EMRA/ACEP
  • Completed EMRA Day of Service on September 23rd, 2017.
    • 13 students helped clean 10 bags of trash from the banks of the Tar River

  • Held four faculty lunch talks
    • Introduction to EM and EMIG - Dr. Cassandra Bradby
    • Setting Yourself up for Success in EM Match and Residency - Dr. Richard Stair
    • In's and Out's of the EM/IM Residency - Drs. Jennifer Stahl and Nathan Nehus
    • Top 10 Overdoses: Signs, Symptoms and Treatments - Dr. William Meggs
  • EKG Review Night at Pitt Street Brewery with 16 students
  • Dinner with EM Doctors with 6 attendings, 2 residents and 15 students
  • Suture Lab with 3 residents and 24 students
  • MedEvac Simulation
    • First use of ECU's new MV-22 Osprey Military Aircraft Simulator
    • Conducted training and simulation for 24 students

  • Applied for and obtained funding for 12 students to attend ACEP 2017 including EMRA's Medical Student Forum
