The Wound Healing Center has advanced care for patients to help them recover from sores, lesions and other tissue disorders. Our special treatments restore the skin, underlying muscle and bone and help prevent infection.

We use 100-percent oxygen at higher-than-normal pressures to aid recovery, known as hyperbaric treatment. Patients lie inside our chamber and are bathed in an oxygen-rich air, which helps bring healing to body tissues. Oxygen has been found to improve healing when wounds are unresponsive to other treatments.

Patients are also exposed to a higher air pressure, about twice atmospheric pressure (that is, twice as high as a normal outdoor setting).

Wounds that benefit from hyperbaric treatments include those caused by diabetes, infection, skin grafts and radiation-damaged bone and soft tissue. This treatment may be prescribed for wounds that have not healed within 30 days.

Our patients also receive carefully developed dressings and wraps, tissue substitutes and other skin treatments.
