It's estimated that more than 2 million people worldwide are affected by autism or the related conditions known as autism spectrum disorders. Children with autism find it more difficult to communicate or understand others emotions. They may also experience repetitive behaviors.
ECU Physicians offers services through the Family Autism Center to help parents and pediatricians respond to the needs of autistic children and teenagers. This independent medical practice offers specialized services in a comfortable setting. We can evaluate children and teenagers and refer them for treatment, such as occupational or speech therapy.
Guidelines issued in 2013 created the general description of autism spectrum disorders for these behavioral, learning and neurological conditions. Our center plans to assist our patients and their families, as well as professionals and educators. Our patients will find the care and guidance you need in one convenient location at this medical office. We have ample parking for our patients in front of our office.
