Our Robert and Frances Monk Geriatric Center is a special office that brings together all services needed by older patients in one location. Its wide hallways make navigating by wheelchair easy, and for patients who need them, we have wheelchairs available for use during your visit.
Geriatrics patients have full use of all the services at the adjoining Family Medicine Center, including the procedure rooms, pharmacy, radiology and physical therapy as recommended by your doctor. We also offer a special women’s health exam room for more privacy.
Patients 62 years old and older can find specialized care at this office. Our physicians are fellowship-trained in meeting the needs of patients as they age. Our staff will make sure our patients of all abilities have the best health possible. This office coordinates specialty care referrals as well as hospital admissions. We work with families to create programs of care for patients who may face a loss of independence. Caregivers can also find support and guidance from the Geriatric Center staff.
Our physicians are the faculty of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. They practice as ECU Physicians, the largest medical group east of Raleigh. The Monk Geriatric Center was named in honor of Robert and Frances Monk through a gift by the Monk family.
