Subspecialty Pediatric Care
Our subspecialty pediatricians have the advanced training to treat children with acute or complex illnesses, as well as those who require hospitalization or ongoing treatment for chronic conditions. Our services complement those of the general pediatrician and we strongly emphasize ongoing communication with the primary physician. Children referred to us remain the patient of their own physician.

Hematology-oncology

Cardiology and Electrophysiology

Digestive Diseases
Diagnosis and treatment of gastric bleeding, digestive malnutrition and other disorders. We perform pediatric colonoscopy and endoscopy and diagnose and treat gastric obstruction (swallowed objects). Pediatric Specialty Care. (252) 744-4963.
Nephrology

Neurology

Diabetes and Endocrinology

Genetics

Infectious Diseases

Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

Children’s Developmental Services Agency
(Developmental Evaluation Center)

Child Abuse
Forensic evaluation and consultation, with mental health services for some victims and their families. For physician, social worker and law enforcement referrals only. (252) 758-1200
Children's Inpatient Services
For children who require hospitalization, we have a number of inpatient services to carefully match our care to their needs. We offer a pediatric sedation service, with pediatric patients induced under the direct supervision of a physician from the Pediatric Critical Care section. This service is offered for scheduled minor surgeries, diagnostics and other procedures during which children may need sedation. (252) 847-4100 and ask for the admitting resident.

Center for Children with Chronic and Complex Conditions
For infants and children whose conditions are fragile, chronic and complex, requiring special medical and developmental support. The center aims to promote optimal growth, development and well-being for these children and their families while working with the child's own physician and assisting children during their transition to adult medical care.
