When your child needs surgery, you will find highly skilled specialists at ECU Physicians who offer the most advanced care available. Our pediatric surgeons are solely dedicated to caring for our smallest patients.
Because children's medical conditions differ from those of adults, they need surgical approaches and methods that are right for them. With our pediatric surgery care team, you are assured of exceptional treatments for your loved ones. We are proud to offer these surgical services close to home, sparing families the additional burden of travel.
Children with a wide range of conditions will benefit from this specialized level of care. Below are some of the pediatric surgical services we offer.
Neonatal surgery is the surgical repair of birth defects, some of which may be life threatening to premature and full-term infants.
Prenatal surgery allows pediatric surgeons in cooperation with radiologists, to use ultrasound and other technologies during the fetal stage of a child's development to detect abnormalities and plan corrective surgery.
Trauma surgery treats the serious, often life-threatening injuries sustained by children. These may or may not require surgical intervention.
Oncologic surgery is the diagnosis and surgical care of children with cancerous tumors as well as non-cancerous growths.
General surgery includes the care of common problems repaired by surgeons including surgery in the belly, chest and neck. When possible these procedures are done with small incisions and cameras for less pain, smaller scars and faster recovery.
