Vascular Disease Services
Vascular diseases affect the body's major blood supply routes and can give rise to serious complications if left untreated.
Using state-of-the art ultrasound and diagnostic tools, we can identify problems such as aneurysms, a week or bulging artery wall usually caused by cholesterol-containing fatty deposits. Aneurysms sometimes occur in the body's largest artery, the aorta, where they silently increase in size and can be fatal if they erupt. We are also experts in diagnosing and treating arterial blockage and other disorders of the arteries.
Our vascular surgeons are highly skilled subspecialists in minimally invasive endovascular repair, which reduces pain and recovery time to our patients. Our services include medical and surgical treatments of carotid (neck) artery disease, one of the major causes of stroke. We can often treat neck artery blockage through minimally invasive procedures where appropriate. We also correct carotid artery blockage through traditional arteriograms.
We diagnose and treat peripheral artery disease and hypertension and perform bypass surgery associated with kidney failure.
Rehabilitation for stroke patients is provided at the Regional Rehabilitation Center. Diet and nutrition counseling is provided by our physicians and staff nutritionists.
Internal medicine physicians and cardiologists practice at Medical Pavilion and the Brody Outpatient Center.
