Rehabilitation Services
At our Regional Rehabilitation Center people recovering from illness or injury receive professional help in pain management, mobility and self-treatment, returning to work and home with the skills they need for success.
Our staff includes compassionate therapists, counselors and physicians. Working together, we provide physical, occupational and recreation therapy, as well as evaluation for treatments such as ultrasound, massage and exercise. We can provide patients with assistive devices of all types, including shoe orthotics, prosthetics, walkers and others.
Our fully-equipped facilities include heated pools, strength-training equipment and electrodiagnostic testing equipment. We provide real-life settings, including an "apartment" for residents to learn how to take care of themselves at home. Independence Square helps them learn to shop for groceries and complete other errands.
We offer 75 beds for in-patient care, including programs for stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, arthritis, amputee and industrial injuries. We are one of only two in-patient rehabilitation centers for children in the state.
Outpatient rehabilitation is also provided at the new ViQuest Fitness Center, a 52,000-square foot medically modeled site on Stantonsburg Road.
