Women's Health
Low-Risk Pregnancy Services
At ECU Women’s Physicians, certified nurse midwives provide excellent care to women of all ages and cultural backgrounds. We care for women during pregnancy and postpartum, assist with family planning and provide gynecological care. We are also part of a multidisciplinary team that provides care during labor and birth at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. We focus on a woman’s transition to motherhood as a normal physiological event. We encourage active participation by the woman and her family in the decision-making process to facilitate the birthing experience she desires. We support and promote breastfeeding through education, counseling services and direct access to a midwife for new mothers with questions or problems.
We listen to women, believing they often know their needs best. We offer education about treatment options and discuss risks and benefits so a woman can make an informed choice that fits her needs and lifestyle.
With ECU Women’s Physicians’ collaborative practice of nurse midwives, obstetricians, gynecologists and maternal-fetal medicine specialists, we can meet a woman’s health care needs in one location. Our team of providers works closely together to give you the outstanding health care you deserve.
