Pelvic exams and Pap tests are generally recommended for women starting at age 18. Yearly Pap tests are recommended until age 29. Women who have normal results may skip a year between Pap tests starting at age 30. Pelvic exams also check for signs of infection or conditions related to sexual activity or other health issues.
Some women experience breast pain, lumps or discomfort. These conditions may be related to natural changes hormonal levels each month. Or, they may indicate another condition. During your exam, your doctor will check your breasts for abnormal lumps, bumps or discharge.
We can talk over steps for keeping a healthy weight, exercising more and eating the right foods. We may discuss vitamins and supplements.
If you are having problems such as infertility, painful periods or irregular bleeding, or incontinence, we can offer treatments and refer you to our specialists if needed.
