Research in Residency

The faculty of ECU Emergency Medicine recognizes the important role that research plays in teaching, patient care, and the development of our specialty.  Many faculty actively participate in clinical research and welcome resident co-investigators.

Their work is supported by funding from both private and public institutions and has resulted in a number of publications and presentations. Residents are encouraged and required to participate in scholastic activity. During their training each resident will prepare and present an independent project that represents original research, review of the literature, a EM-related case report, or other topic of interest. The Division of Research provides faculty assistance at all levels.
