1 Orthopedic Sports Medicine Clinic-ATR: Patients are seen and examined with Orthopedists in an athletic training room setting from 6:30 to 7:30am. This is a longitudinal experience through the academic year.
2 PCSM Clinic-ATR: The fellow will assist the athletic training staff and team physicians in the care of over 400 intercollegiate athletes. This is a longitudinal experience through the academic year.
3 Sports Medicine Clinic-SHS: Patients are seen and examined with PCSM faculty in this referral based Primary Care Sports Medicine clinic located at ECU Student Health Services. This is a longitudinal experience.
4 Sports Medicine Clinic-FMC/Firetower: Patients are seen and examined with PCSM faculty in a private practice setting. This is a longitudinal experience through the academic year.
5 Sports Psych: The fellow attends a graduate level Sports Psychology class held on the campus of ECU during the fall semester.
6 Evidence-Based Medicine: ECU Family Medicine residency conference using evidence-based medicine to address clinical questions.
7 Subspecialty Rotation: Fellows rotate through several clinical experiences for 4 week blocks to further augment their knowledge and skill in Sports Medicine.
8 Didactics: The fellow participates in weekly scheduled didactics with the Program Director and/or selected faculty along with residents and medical students on rotation with the Sports Medicine Division.
9 MSK Radiology Conference: approximately 15-20 faculty member selected cases are reviewed with a musculoskeletal radiologist. This is a longitudinal experience which occurs on the third Wednesday morning of every month.
10 Family Medicine Grand Rounds: A biweekly lecture which features Primary Care topics.
11 Sports Medicine Seminar Series: A multi-disciplinary seminar held on the 3rd Thursday evening of each month.
12 Primary Care Continuity Clinic: The fellow participates in a longitudinal clinical experience in his/her primary specialty in order to maintain medical knowledge and skills in his/her primary specialty.
13 Faculty Development: Core series of lectures and teaching workshops for the Dept. of Family Medicine fellows in Sports Medicine, Geriatrics, and Women’s Health as well as other fellows at Vidant/BSOM. 10 Friday’s per year.
14 Procedure Clinic: The fellow will spend time learning ultrasound and fluoroscopically guided injections to treat of variety of musculoskeletal related conditions and under the direct supervision of faculty members.
15 High School Football: The fellow will participate with high school football game coverage with cross coverage available from Orthopedics East.
16 ECU Pirate Football: The fellow will participate with faculty physicians in sideline coverage of the ECU football team during home games.
