The Family Medicine Residency program at East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine provides the best academic resources a university hospital has to offer, but in the close community setting of Greenville, North Carolina. Located in the coastal plains of eastern North Carolina, our medical school was established out of a need to provide primary care physicians to the region. Our diverse, well-rounded group of residents benefit tremendously from the school's commitment to primary care and work in a supportive, friendly learning environment.
Our program accepts ten new residents each year. Residents are exposed to every aspect of family medicine and are prepared to provide a wide range of core procedures. Residents enjoy access to cutting-edge university resources while engaged in community-based training experiences. Residents take advantage of our wireless environment to conveniently perform routine tasks, such as logging procedures, and to access web-based medical resources anywhere on site.
Our faculty are experienced clinical teachers who serve as mentors and provide invaluable support, instruction, and encouragement to residents. The Department of Family Medicine has 32 physician faculty, as well as faculty in pharmacy, nutrition, behavioral medicine, and research.
