Philanthropy at East Carolina University allows us to provide the margin of excellence necessary to provide first class service to our students, faculty, staff, and certainly, our patients treated within the division of health sciences. To this end, several opportunities for funding exist at our Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center. One such opportunity is the Friends of the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center (Friends). “The purpose of the Friends is to provide support needed to fulfill the mission and objectives of the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center,” states Friends Chair Murrell McLeod. McLeod knows the challenges and need for focus on patients firsthand. As a cancer survivor and former patient of the LWJCC, Murrell started a grassroots effort nearly four years ago to start the all-volunteer group.
If you have an interest in becoming a Friend of the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center, and/or would like to support the group via personal support, please contact Murrell McLeod at (252) 531-3672 or MurrellMcLeod@kwgreenville.com. Likewise, you can contact Karen Cobb at the Medical & Health Sciences Foundation at (252) 744-3231 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Should there be any questions about this process, the Foundation’s main number is (252) 744-2238. Someone at the Foundation will be willing to answer any questions that you may have.
