The Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program is a fully accredited, three-year training program. The Division seeks to select, develop and mentor young physicians in this specialty to prepare them for a career in Gastroenterology. The division focuses on the core competencies identified by the ACGME. The Brody School of Medicine defines the specific knowledge, skills, behaviors and attitudes required to provide educational experiences as needed for the fellows to demonstrate excellent patient care, thorough medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism and systems-based practice. Because this is a small program, each fellow gets individual tutoring from faculty in the specialty of Gastroenterology.
Candidates must have successfully completed an approved residency in internal medicine. Prospective fellows typically apply during the fall of their second year of internal medicine residency.
