L. Lorraine Basnight, MD, Associate Dean, Graduate Medical Education, Designated Institutional Official (DIO), and Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Responsible for collaboration between the hospital and medical school as regards GME, strategic planning, institutional compliance, and integration of the learners into the institutions.

Darla Liles, MD, Director of Accreditation, Graduate Medical Education, and Associate Professor in Hematology/Oncology
Responsible for managing the Internal Review process and assisting programs to prepare for ACGME accreditation site visits, chairs our GMEC subcommittee on Accreditation, and assists in the development of new programs.

Bill Williams, MD, Interim Administrator, Graduate Medical Education
Responsible for Internal Reviews and program compliance with accreditation guidelines, duty hour compliance, and GME faculty development.

Alyson Riddick, Manager of GME
Responsible for ensuring the requirements of various accrediting agencies are met, GME finances, Contracts, Immigration and Visas, and administration of the GME Office.

Shirley Rutledge, Program Assistant
Responsible for Resident Reappointment, Away Rotations, and data management.

Alycia Smith, Program Associate
Responsible for the GME Website, supporting the GME committees, special projects, and is the operational liaison between Brody School of Medicine and Vidant Medical Center.

Melissa Whitmer, Credentialing Specialist
Responsible for first-line communication with those who contact the GME Office, license renewals, Meal Allowance, Pager issues, New Resident Paperwork and coordination of GME activities.

Karen Gliarmis, Resident/Fellow Liaison
