HIPAA Security Rule Training for Systems Administrators

All workforce members must be trained on HIPAA security issues if they access computers that contain EPHI. This training will help to assist you in protecting the confidentiality, security and integrity of EPHI. We all have certain responsibilities in implementing safeguards and actions to protect EPHI.

If you have completed this course previously or have already registered in OneStop, you can click on this link to start your course http://blackboard.ecu.edu. Otherwise, follow the course registration steps below:

Course Registration: To register for the HIPAA Security Rule Training, follow the steps below:

  1. Login to OneStop with your PirateID and PassPhrase.
  2. Select the Tools Tab. Under the Employee Section, select University Training.
  3. Click on View Sections beside the HIPAA Security Rule Training for Systems Administrators course.
  4. Click on Enroll in order to register for the course or determine if you are already enrolled.
  5. You will receive an email after being added to the course with directions on how to start it.
  6. If you have access issues, please contact the Help Desk @ 328-9866 or http://help.ecu.edu to report the problem.

NOTE: General Users who do not administer HIPAA computer systems, obtain HIPAA Security Training when they attend HIPAA Privacy Training. Check the HIPAA Privacy Web Site  or visit OneStop for more information.
