Application Process

The Division of Infectious Diseases at ECU/Brody School of Medicine receives applications through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) found at the following website:

ERAS requires the following documents:
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A reference letter from your Residency Program Director or Department Chairman
  • Personal statement
  • Medical school transcript
  • Copies of all National Board, FLEX and USMLE scores
Once your completed application is received, candidates that best meet the needs of the program will be selected for a formal interview. Interviews typically occur on Wednesdays from February thru April dependent on the number of applicants.
Our program also participates in the National Resident Matching Program’s (NRMP) Specialties Matching Program (part of the AAMC).  Once your application is complete and you have attended an interview, both the candidate and fellowship program develop a preference order, which is then used by the NRMP to generate a final match list.  Further information regarding this process can be found at:
