Residency Tracks

Preliminary

Requirements/Rotations:
(1 block = 4 weeks; 13 blocks per academic year)

  • 3 blocks of General Internal Medicine Inpatient
  • 3 blocks of Subspecialty Inpatient (Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, and Neurology)
  • 1 block in the Medical ICU
  • 1 block in the Cardiac Care Unit
  • 1 block of Night Medicine
  • 2 blocks of Ambulatory Medicine
  • 2 blocks of Consult electives (see below for available electives)

Categorical

First Year Requirements/Rotations:
(1 block = 4 weeks; 13 blocks per academic year)

  • 3 blocks of General Internal Medicine Inpatient
  • 3 blocks of Subspecialty Inpatient (Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, and Neurology)
  • 1 block in the Medical ICU
  • 1 block in the Cardiac Care Unit
  • 1 block of Night Medicine
  • 2 blocks of Ambulatory Medicine
  • 2 blocks of Consult electives (see below for available electives)

Second Year Requirements/Rotations:
(1 block = 4 weeks; 13 blocks per academic year)

  • 2 block of General Internal Medicine Inpatient (including Manager's Team)
  • 1 block of Subspecialty Inpatient (Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, or Neurology)
  • 1 block of  Medicine Consults
  • 1 block of Emergency Medicine
  • 1 block in the Medical ICU
  • 1 block in the Cardiac Care Unit
  • 1 block of Night Medicine
  • 1 block of a Consult elective (see below for available electives)
  • 1 block of an Outpatient elective
  • 2 blocks of Ambulatory Medicine
  • 1 block of Director's Month

Third Year Requirements/Rotations:
(1 block = 4 weeks; 13 blocks per academic year)

  • 1 block of General Internal Medicine Inpatient (including Manager's Team)
  • 1 block of Subspecialty Inpatient (Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, or Neurology)
  • 1 block of Geriatrics
  • 1 block in the Medical ICU
  • 1 block in the Cardiac Care Unit
  • 1 block of Night Medicine
  • 3 block of a Consult elective (see below for available electives)
  • 1 block of an Outpatient elective
  • 2 blocks of Ambulatory Medicine
  • 1 block of a Non-core elective or Consult elective (see below for available electives)

Electives

  • Cardiology, Cardiology ICU, Cardiology outpatient, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Hematology/Oncology outpatient, Infectious Disease, Medical ICU, Musculoskeletal/Rheumatology, Nephrology, Pulmonary, etc.
  • Research and Away rotations are available.
  • Residents have even setup rotations in subspecialties that are not routinely available.
