23nd Annual
Yash P. Kataria Research Day

Thursday, April 23, 2009

This year's Research Day will be held in the
Brody Building

Presentations in Room 2E100
Posters in Room 2E30 - 2E50

Internal Medicine's annual research day seeks to promote the discussion of research ideas and accomplishments and encourages professional interaction within the department.  All Internal Medicine faculty, staff, residents, fellows and students are invited to present their research or a clinical vignette.  Research recently published or presented is welcome.  Projects may be in the early stages of development but must be supported by preliminary data.  We also encourage submissions from other departments and schools at ECU in areas related to adult medicine.  As in the past, presentations will be ten minutes long with a five-minute discussion.  Poster sessions will also be held.

Submission Deadline is
Wednesday, March 11th, at 5:00 p.m.
See the links to the left for submission instructions

In 2008, Research Day was dedicated to honoring the contributions of long-time faculty member, Dr. Yash P. Kataria, to the Brody School of Medicine. For more information on Dr. Kataria's accomplishments, click here...

This year's keynote speaker is
Randy Jirtle, MD
Dr. Jirtle is a Professor in Radiation Oncology and an Associate Professor of Pathology at Duke University Medical Center.  Dr. Jirtle's research interests are in epigenetics, genomic imprinting, and the fetal origins of disease susceptibility.
