Learn the Basics of Developing a Successful Presentation
Tips to get started:
- Give the audience accurate, authoritative information that is well-organized and properly cited.
- Use simple, neutral backgrounds; these are best for readability.
- Limit the lines of text on a slide. Edit for wordiness. Use direct language.
- Include clip art sparingly. Graphics should contribute information to the presentation.
- Allow time for questions after the presentation.
- Run the spell checker.
- Check the room and equipment before the presentation.
- Practice the talk until the delivery is smooth.
- Provide meaningful narration—don't read the entire talk from the slides. Slides are only visual cues.
