Vacation/Leave
  • Additional five days vacation at either Christmas or New Year's.
  • One week educational leave for upper level residents to attend approved local/state/national conferences or meetings.
  • Paid sick leave (12 days annually).
  • Parental Leave Policy for maternity/paternity leave.
 
Book/Journal/Conference Allowance
  • The Department pays for ABIM certification examination fees.
  • The hospital reimburses STEP 3 USMLE examination fees.
  • $100.00 per year for books or journals through our medical bookstore.
  • Access to educational resources web site with free MD consult & New England Journal of Medicine.
  • Access to Ovid and other resources through health sciences library.
  • Additional educational funding is available to PGY-2's and PGY-3's for poster or paper presentation expenses to approved local/state/national conferences.
  • Department purchases Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP). MKSAP is a self-study program on Internal Medicine topics used in preparing for the Certifying Examination in Internal Medicine.
  • Access to MKSAP CD-ROM.
  • American Board of Internal Medicine In-Training Examination given yearly for all residents.
