Advanced Refworks Class - Today

Today, the library is offering a brand new class, Advanced Refworks. This class takes you beyond the basics and covers advanced features such as Write N Cite (which formats internal citations) and RefGrabIt (which can pull information from websites). No registration required, just stop in and learn some new tricks!

Find It, e-journal portal maintenance 10/24, 3am-9am

Medline Class - October 21st

On October 21 from 5:30-6:30pm, the library will be holding a "drop-in" class on Medline. PubMed is Getting a Makeover

We wanted to let everyone knows that PubMed is undergoing an upgrade. A preview is linked from the Pubmed home page. The go live date for the new interface is supposed to be within the next two weeks.

DynaMed point-of-care tool now available

Medical School to Host Forum on Swine Flu, May 11

Monday, May 11 from 5:30-6:30pm, there will be a community forum discussing H1N1 flu virus (a.k.a the swine flu).  It will take place in the Brody Medical Sciences Building Auditorium.

It will also be broadcast live on ECU-TV, Suddenlink cable Channel 99, and will also be viewable online.

In addition to hearing from several physicians, participants will be able to ask the panel questions about the virus.

iPod touch loan w/Netter's anatomy flash cards

Reminder - "Reserve" Items Require an ID

Items in the Laupus Library collection that are designated "Reserve" can not be taken outside of the library. You can however check them out and use the item anywhere in the library. You will need to be eligible to check out materials and have a photo ID to leave with the Service Desk attendant. Or you may use these items in the Reserves reading area without needing to check them out at all. If you have questions or need help with Reserve items, please contact us at 252-744-2219 or stop by our Service Desk.

Improved access to AGRICOLA

We now have access to AGRICOLA through Ovid.  To access this database, simply go to the Electronic Resources page and select "A" for AGRICOLA. It will be located on the very bottom of the database list.

Construction-- Sept. 15 and 16

Due to some minor renovations near our main 2nd floor doors, there may be construction noise throughout the day on Monday, September 15 in Laupus Library.

Also, on September 16, painters will be staining wood near the service desk, so there may be fumes around the second floor.

Please plan your library visit with this in mind.

Exam Master Now Available from Anywhere

Exam Master is now available from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection and a pirate id and password. 

Exam Master can be accessed from the Electronic Resources page under "E" for Exam Master.  This resource provides exam preparation and review software to medical students, residents, physician assistants, and some other health sciences.

Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature has changed parent companies.  EBSCO Information Systems now owns CINAHL and has redesigned the online search page.

As a result, please be aware that CINAHL may not have the functionality you remember. 
Please allow yourself a little extra time to get familiar with EBSCO CINAHL, and as always contact one of our librarians if you need help.
