Off Campus/Distance Education Info
Most electronic resources are available to students, faculty and staff from off campus through ECU’s Proxy Server. For some resources, you will need to enter your Pirate ID and password, which is the same ID and password used for OneStop and PirateMail. The timeout for off-campus or remote login is 30 minutes.
Problems logging into ECU Proxy Server
If you cannot remember your ECU Pirate ID, visit the university's E-Mail and Phone page. For students, your initial password information can be found in your admissions letter and letter from the first year center.
If you forgot your password, you can reset it. The Passphrase Maintenance page provides directions on how to register and sign in.
If you are still having problems with your Pirate ID and password, try the ECU IT Help Desk.
The ECU Proxy Server access page will have an error reporting form if you have trouble logging in.
Important information for solving most technical problems.
Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Service
Not only is interlibrary loan useful for obtaining articles that you cannot access online, but you may also use this service to borrow books from the library. Distance education students can have library books sent to them using this service, which is called “remote checkout”. We will send the item(s) to you at no charge, but you will need to pay to have the item sent back to us.
Library Catalog: Search for items in the Laupus Library collection.
Citation Linker: Find full text of an article.
