Equipment Loan Program Frequently Asked Questions

The Laupus Library Computer Lab loans out digital camcorders, digital cameras, laptops, iPad 2, a multimedia projector, and a TurningPoint audience response system as part of their Equipment Loan Program. The loan program is available to ECU faculty, staff, and students.

What are the digital camcorder specs?

Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108: 40x optical zoom, 80x digital zoom. Accessories included with the loan include a USB cable, rechargeable battery pack, AC adapter and power cord, AV cable, operating manual, Handycam application CD-Rom software, and carrying case.

What are the digital camera specs?

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T90: 12.1 Mega pixels, 4x optical zoom, 3” wide screen touch panel LCD. Accessories included with the loan are a 4GB memory card, rechargeable battery pack with charging unit, USB multi-use cable, wrist strap with screen pen, and carrying case.

What are the digital voice recorder specs?

Sony ICD PX820 (5 available): 2GB built-in flash memory, USB connectivity for file transfer to PC or Mac, multiple recording modes, allows up to 535 hours of voice-quality audio recording in LP mode. The loan includes the voice recorder, 2 AAA rechargeable batteries, USB transfer cable and a carrying case.

What are the laptop specs?

Lenovo X201 laptops (10 available): built-in wireless card with 12.1” widescreen display. Other specs include a 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB of memory. Microsoft Office 2010 is installed. The loan includes a laptop, power cord and a carrying case.

Lenovo X1 Carbon laptops (10 available) have a built-in wireless card with 14" widescreen display. Other specifications: Intel Core i5 (1.80 GHz), 4GB of memory, SD media card reader. Microsoft Office 2010 is installed.

Apple MacBook Pro (10 available): built-in wireless card with 15” widescreen display. Other specs include a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of memory, DVD-RW drive and HD graphics. The loan includes the MacBook, power cord and a carrying case.

Which mini DVD formats are compatible with the digital camcorder?

The digital camcorders accept 8cm DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R, and DVD+R DL.

What are the Flip Video Camera specs?

8GB|2 hr, 720p HD | 60 fps, Image stabilization, Digital zoom, Carrying case included.

What are the iPad specs?

16GB iPad 2, preloaded with standard iPad software as well as Netter's Anatomy and Histology Flash Cards, uCentral, and many other medical titles.

What are the projector specs?

NEC NP41 portable multimedia projector: 1024 x 768 resolution, 2300 lumens, 1600:1 contrast ratio, 33-300” screen size (diagonal), 4.8-44’ projection distance, auto-focus, high contrast. Accessories include a remote control, VGA display cable, power cable and carrying case.

What is TurningPoint?

TurningPoint is an audience response system that works in conjunction with PowerPoint and is a product of Turning Technologies.

What is included when loaning TurningPoint?

The TurningPoint loan includes a set of 50 response cards, a USB receiver, software CD, and a laptop with the TurningPoint software installed.

When can you checkout equipment?

Equipment can be checked out anytime during the Laupus Computer Lab's normal operating hours. View library hours.

Where do you go to checkout equipment?

All equipment must be checked out from the Laupus Computer Lab, Room 2502. For questions or directions, please call (252) 744-3081.

How long is the checkout period?

Equipment is loaned for one week, with TurningPoint being an exception (a 3-day loan). They may also be renewed if not already reserved by another borrower. For more information or to make a reservation, please review the loan agreement.
