Mickey DowdyInterim President, Medical & Health Sciences Foundation Mickey Dowdy, ECU vice chancellor for university advancement, is serving as the interim president for the ECU Medical & Health Sciences Foundation. Mickey joined East Carolina in July 2006 as vice chancellor for university advancement. In that capacity he oversees the university's alumni, development and marketing programs. Before joining ECU, he served Virginia Commonwealth University from 1993 to 2006 as CEO of the health sciences campus foundation and chief development officer for health sciences development operations. From 1984 until 1993 he served as vice president for development at University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia; and from 1979 to 1984 he held a variety of positions on the development staff at University of Richmond. He holds a BA degree from University of Richmond and an MBA degree from University of Mary Washington.

![]() T. Greg Prince Director of Development, Division of Health Sciences T. Greg Prince is the director of development for ECU's Division of Health Sciences. His primary fund raising duties are with the Brody School of Medicine. Greg earned his B.A. at UNC-Chapel Hill and Ed.M. at Harvard University. Currently he is pursuing his Ed.D. in educational leadership at ECU. Greg has been with ECU since April 2007. |
![]() Mark Alexander, '04 Mark is the director of development for the College of Nursing and has served in this capacity since January 2007. He is responsible for the fund raising program for the college as well as overseeing the scholarship program. He is a 2004 graduate of ECU, earning a B.S. in economics. He is currently taking classes at ECU to pursue a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in non-profit management.

![]() Karen H. Cobb Karen is the director of annual giving and alumni/parent relations for the Brody School of Medicine and works closely with alumni and students. Karen is responsible for the BSOM Alumni Journal, class reunions and oversees the annual mailing campaigns. Karen has been with ECU since 2008 and previously served as director of development at NC Wesleyan College.

![]() Kristen Ward Kristen is the director of development for the School of Dental Medicine. Previously, Kristen served as associate director of development at North Carolina Wesleyan College and director of development for the American Red Cross. She has a B.A. in English and psychology and a non-profit management certificate from Duke University.

![]() Renee Safford-White, '10 Renee is part of the foundation team serving as the annual fund coordinator. She also works closely with the Brody Scholar Program. Renee has more than 14 years of experience working at ECU as an executive assistant and working with special events. She graduated in 2010 with a B.S. in business education, earned an M.P.A. in November 2011, and is currently pursuing a PhD.

![]() Elizabeth K. Briney, '04 Elizabeth is the executive assistant to the president. She works closely with the Medical & Health Sciences Foundation board of directors and is responsible for the administration of board activities. Elizabeth is a 2004 graduate of ECU with a B.S. in child development and family relations and has worked at ECU since January 2006.

![]() Candace Darden As a part of the team, Candace is responsible for the management of all aspects of personnel administration for the foundation. She also assists with fund raising support and publication design. She graduated from Mount Olive College with a B.S. in business administration and organizational development. Candace has been with ECU since April 2007.

![]() Allison Brown Cavanaugh Allison provides administrative support in a number of critical areas. Her voice is often the first one you hear when you call the foundation. Her responsibilities include data coordination, gift processing and development support. Allison has been with the foundation for 11 years. |

Mandy King is part of the financial services team, serving as interim controller for the ECU Medical & Health Sciences Foundation and controller for the ECU Alumni Association. She has been with the University since 2003, having served several years as an accountant for the ECU Foundation. Mandy is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

She graduated from ECU in 2008 with a B.S. in business administration and currently is working on her M.B.A. Kim joined the foundation in 2010 and has worked at ECU for more than 8 years.

She processes accounts payable and a number of critical reports. Julia is a graduate of Georgia State University and has been with the foundation for more than six years. |
