The Childhood Obesity Epidemic
Dr. David Collier, Dr. Kathryn Kolasa , Dr. Annette Peery, Ms. Cathy McLean, Ms. Susan Houston
The experts say that this generation may be the first to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents due to obesity. Finding ways to prevent and treat childhood obesity is the focus of this session. In small groups you will learn to use the same screening tools medical students employ to help adult and pediatric patients understand how their lifestyle contributes to obesity and chronic disease.
A display of health information will be provided by Ms. Beth Ketterman, Laupus Library outreach librarian.
