INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING

MTS supports the Brody School of Medicine faculty involved in the instruction of medical students, graduate students, and residents. A consultation with our Instructional Technologist can assist the teaching faculty in determining their instructional goals, determine the appropriate design models necessary to meet their goals and develop suitable technology necessary to actively engage their students. The project will be transformed into a sophisticated, interactive learning module to be delivered to the students on ECU’s Blackboard Learning System.  Services include:

LAUPUS COMPUTER LAB

Laupus Library's computer lab contains state-of-the-art technology to provide a full range of computer services to ECU's health sciences community, including over 40 PC's, 3 iMac's, 3 Flatbed scanners, 2 high volume black and white laser printers, and a color laser printer.  Over 35 software titles are available in the computer lab ranging from word processing, spreadsheet, statistical, and presentation software to discipline-specific programs that complement the Division of Health Sciences curriculum.  All Computers are connected to the Internet and provide our clients with access to electronic library resources. EQUIPMENT LOAN PROGRAM

Classroom Support Services offers the Equipment Loan Program which allows ECU students, faculty and staff the opportunity to loan various equipment for a week at a time. The program is currently offered through the Laupus Library Computer Lab which is where all equipment is checked out and returned. Among the items available are: laptops, digital cameras and camcorders, iPod touches, a digital projector, and a TurningPoint audience response system. To reserve an item today, complete the equipment loan request form.

OPSCAN GRADING

OpScan is a specialized scanner designed to grade placement tests, bypass tests, regular tests, student surveys and other Pearson NCS bubble sheets. The service is available for all Division of Health Sciences faculty and staff. We offer 24-hour turnaround time and two convenient locations for drop-off and pickup: Laupus Library Computer Lab (Health Sciences Building, room 2502) and at the MTS office in Brody (1S-10). The service is available Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. Request forms are available here.

POSTER PRINTING

Our large-format poster printing service is available (for a fee) to all Division of Health Sciences faculty, staff and students for ECU business related purposes. Posters are printed in the Laupus Library Computer Lab by our student staff and are generally printed anytime during the lab’s normal operating hours. We accept two forms of payment – cash/credit or department charge. Pricing is determined by the overall length of each poster with finals at $5/linear foot and drafts at $4/linear foot.
