Nursing: Quantitative Methodologist/Biostatistician Faculty

The ECU, CON is seeking a quantitative methodologist/biostatistician at an Assistant/Associate Professor level to support the CON and ECU's mission to actively grow the research enterprise. This tenure-track position will be appointed in the CON's Nursing Science Department and will reside in the Office of Research and Scholarship. The faculty member in this position will work closely with faculty across the CON on quantitative methodology and study design to maximize research productivity and grant success.

Minimum Qualifications Include:

  • PhD from an appropriately accredited institution.

Nursing: ABSN Faculty

The East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a faculty position with strong expertise in medical-surgical nursing. Faculty responsibilities include planning, teaching and evaluating primarily face-to-face theory, lab and clinical courses. The position may also involve the direct supervision of students in clinical settings. Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in medical-surgical nursing. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in the accelerated pre-licensure option with some teaching in the traditional pre-licensure option.

Nursing: Anesthesia Faculty

The East Carolina University, College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a full-time 12-month faculty position to teach graduate students in the Nurse Anesthesia Program. Teaching will include courses in the didactic, portion of the program. Specifically, will be the director of scholarly project courses, and may have on-line courses. (If an APRN will have clinical obligations).

Minimum Qualifications Include:

  • A valid non-restricted North Carolina registered nurse (RN) license. If APRN current certification as an APRN or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) required upon employment.
  • DNP, PhD, EdD, or equivalent with graduate degree in nursing, (will consider candidates who have projected date of earned doctorate in May 2020).
  • Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
  • Demonstrated nursing scholarship activity.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills to work with a diverse population of students.

Nursing: Assistant Professor/Research Cluster

The East Carolina University College of Nursing (ECUCON) seeks applicants for two full-time tenure track or tenured faculty positions at the assistant professor or higher level. The individuals will be responsible for developing robust research programs and contributing to teaching, predominately in graduate and doctoral programs. One position is focused on any of the following: cardiovascular disease, cancer, or palliative care. The other position is focused on use of big data to improve quality of care and outcomes. Both individual applicants and two person teams will be considered in filling these two positions. Startup funding is available commensurate with experience and preparation and a named professorship is available for a candidate at the full or associate professor level who demonstrates outstanding research and teaching.

Minimum Qualifications Include:

  • PhD, EdD, DSc, or equivalent
  • Eligibility for tenure-track or tenure at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level (Note: Those with clinical doctorates are tenure ineligible at this time)
  • Strong record of collaborative research and scholarship
  • Demonstrated success in teaching excellence
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • A valid unrestricted North Carolina registered nurse license is required upon employment
