$10,000 BB&T grant supports student leadership development

March 10, 2014

Three College of Nursing faculty members are the recipients of a 2014 BB&T Leadership Enhancement Fund Grant for their project "Expanding and Enhancing Leadership Opportunities for Undergraduate Nursing Students."

Their project will provide opportunities for seniors in Nursing Leadership (NURS 4150) to develop leadership skills through enhanced experiences that provide knowledge and skills related to professional behavior, teamwork, and exploration of current legislation concerning the nursing profession. The grant offers the course participants opportunities to attend presentations by regional and national leaders hosted on the College of Nursing campus. The $10,000 grant is the group's second BB&T award for this initiative; the first allowed them to pilot strategies related to the leadership course.
