Bio

Elizabeth (Liz) Mizelle received her BSN from ECU in 2009, graduating cum laude.  She has almost ten years of nursing experience in rural and tertiary care hospitals.  She completed her MSN degree from ECU in 2015 and joined the ECU nursing faculty that same year.  She is currently enrolled in ECU College of Nursing PhD program. Overall, her research interests include creative teaching strategies, disease prevention, and health promotion.  Specifically, she is concerned about the negative health impacts of extreme weather events and the rapidly changing climate as the coastal communities of eastern North Carolina are particularly vulnerable.
