Skip O'Neal, occupational therapy alumni in 1992 and a post professional masters degree in 2004, was awarded the Best Professional Poster award for excellent presentation of research in the field of behavior analysis at the 2010 North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis conference in Winston-Salem on February 17, 2010. The work was done with Rebecca LaChapelle, Beth Velde, and June Schafford. The research is the result of a unique partnership between the Occupational Therapy Departments at East Carolina University and Caswell Developmental Center. The study was titled Use of a Pressure Vest to Reduce the Physiological Arousal of a Person with Profound Intellectual and Physical Disabilities During Routine Fingernail Care.
