Rick Edwards serves as a member of the didactic faculty. Prior to joining the faculty, he worked for over 15 years in general inpatient and outpatient general pediatrics. He currently works part time for a general pediatrics practice in Wake Forest, NC. Before becoming a Physician Assistant he worked for several years as an executive for a large healthcare system in Alabama and left that position to pursue his desire to study medicine.

For most of his career, Rick has worked in a rural medically underserved community and it remains his passion to help prepare students to provide care to that patient population. His wife is a general pediatrician in private practice and they live in Raleigh, NC with their three children.
