Eastern Carolina Ear, Nose & Throat – Head & Neck Surgery is seeking to add a Physician Assistant to their team.  Candidates should be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant training program approved by the North Carolina Medical Board with current NC licensure in good standing.

LOCATION: Greenville, NC is located in eastern North Carolina, about 1 ½ hours from the Research Triangle and 1 ½ hours from the Crystal Coast.

POSITION: Duties will include surgical assisting, providing inpatient/outpatient consultations, and hospital rounding.

The practice consists of four experienced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians and seventeen mid-level practitioners. Duties include a combination of patient care in an acute rehab hospital setting, rehab patients in a skilled nursing facility, and an outpatient clinic.

Allen Orthopedics is looking for two physician assistants that will assist us in the office and in the operating room. No experience is required. However, we are looking for highly motivated individuals with a positive attitude that can allow us to care for our patients. The physician assistants will learn on the job how to perform a thorough musculoskeletal examination, perform intra-articular injections and other injections. Furthermore, the physician assistant will learn how to perform reductions and casting, and will also be taught how to perform conscious sedation and assist in the operating room. The Mid-Level Provider will render acute medical care and treatment to patients. Assessment Skills – Obtains necessary medical history, assuring accurate assessment of patient's conditions/needs; performs correct and complete physical exams in accordance with established protocols; integrates history and physical findings with clinical knowledge to screen patients adequately pre-procedure; communicates medical assessment to patient and attending physician as needed; provides care appropriate to the patient population.  Clinical Judgment and Decision Making – Assesses a situation, considers alternatives, and chooses appropriate course of action in accordance with delineation privileges; reports all unusual circumstances to physician and seeks guidance and direction as necessary; selectively orders only diagnostic tests pertinent to clinical situation; interprets diagnostic tests appropriately; instructs and counsels patients, taking into consideration the patient's mental and physical condition; functions in a calm manner during a stressful, emergency, or crisis situation; practices within the scope of Licensure.  Documentation Abilities – Documents and reports clearly and concisely; records appropriate information pertaining to patient histories and physicals and physician orders; completes all medical record documentation in a timely manner; possesses appropriate knowledge of hospital forms; writes legibly with appropriate use of abbreviations; comfortable with CPOE (computerized physician order entry) and electronic documentation utilizing Meditech.  Follows up on patient complications as appropriate.

Hours: FT, benefited position. Regular hours include 8 hour shifts from 8-4:30 PM Monday-Friday. Other hours may be necessary for the effective operation of the department.

Qualifications:

  • FNP/NP's – Must be a graduate of an Accredited School offering Advanced Degree in Nursing Practice (ARNP), Board certification, unrestricted license to practice in the state of NC (current RN license).
  • PA's – Must be a graduate of an Accredited School offering Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Health Science (MHS), or Medical Science (MMSc). Professional licensure is regulated by the NC Medical Board.
  • Must obtain a current BCLS certification.
  • Must have current ACLS certification.
  • Prefer PALS and NRP certification.
  • Previous Acute Care experience desirable.
  • Competent in using Meditech EMR documentation system desired.
  • All charting and documentation must be completed by the end of the shift.
  • Knowledge of providing care to all age groups.
  • Previous medical experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of prescribed practice standards.

 

Clinton Urgent Care in Clinton, NC, is seeking a Contract/PRN Physician’s Assistant

The Mid-Level Provider will render general medical care and treatment to patients.  Provider will perform physical examinations within prescribed guidelines and instructions of their Supervising Physician as well as the Medical Director or Practice Management.  Will order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and healthcare needs.  Provider will record physical findings, and formulate a plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.  Will prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.  They may also refer patients to other physicians or to specialized health resources for treatment as medically indicated.  Although appropriate analgesics are prescribed for acute pain and injury, the clinic does have a non-narcotic policy regarding providing controlled substances for chronic pain issues.  Must be comfortable reading basic x-rays and have experience in suturing.

Hours:  PRN position.  Hours and days may vary according to the needs of the department.  The clinic operates 7 days a week.  Regular hours include 12 hour shifts from 8am - 7:30 pm, with ½ for charting at end of shift.  Other hours may be necessary for the effective operation of the department.

Qualifications:

  • FNP/NP's – Must be a graduate of an  Accredited School offering Advanced Degree in Nursing Practice (ARNP), Board  certification, unrestricted license to practice in the state of NC (current RN license).

  • Knowledge of providing a variety of physical examinations including routine pre-employment evaluations, athletics physical examinations, respirator use examinations.
