The Hematopathology section and Hematology laboratory serves patients and clients through selection of optimal testing and interpretation of results to provide accurate diagnoses and relevant prognostic information. Testing and sample evaluation approaches include morphology assessment by traditional microscopy, cytochemistry staining, and immunophenotyping by immunohistochemistry and multicolor flow cytometry.

Additional diagnostic modalities utilized as appropriate through selected specialized laboratories include cytogenetics, fluorescent in-situ hybridization, and molecular diagnostics. The results of these specialized diagnostic techniques are interpreted and integrated in to the final report by our faculty to provide comprehensive and accurate final diagnosis and relevant prognostic and follow up information.
