Message from the Vice Chair

Vidant Medical Center and East Carolina University share the vision of becoming the national model for rural health and wellness by creating a premier, trusted health care delivery and education system. As the Vice Chair of Research, my goal is to support this mission by fostering the growth of a well-rounded research portfolio for the Department of Pediatrics. My focus is to expand the support for our physician-scientists by establishing an infrastructure that assists with the development, implementation, and management of research. This model allows physicians to focus on the science and generation of new knowledge; as our team assists with the design, regulatory processes, enrollment, data entry, and financial aspects of research. Additionally, I hope to increase research opportunities for the Department of Pediatrics by engaging in more collaborations and networks.

I invite you to learn more about the exciting research currently underway, by visiting the section links below.
