How to Make Referrals

The Pediatric Healthy Weight clinic primarily serves children & adolescents in eastern North Carolina but will accept other patients depending on the situation upon request.

Interested Families
If your child is overweight, and you would like to have him or her assessed, please talk with your family doctor or pediatrician about your concerns. Ask your physician to make a referral to the ECU Pediatric Healthy Weight clinic (see below).

Provider Referrals
Primary care providers in eastern North Carolina can make referrals by calling (252) 744-3538 during normal business hours, Monday - Friday. Copies of the referral forms can also be downloaded here and faxed to (252) 744-3297.

Once referrals are made, our staff will contact the family to schedule an initial appointment. Additional visits will be scheduled every few months.
