NC-NPASS reports may not be representative of the population as a whole since it is comprised of data collected on children seen in NC Public Health sponsored Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and child health clinics and some school-based health centers.
Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System(http://www.nchealthyschools.org/data/) Includes data on physical activity, nutrition, overweight (self-reported heights and weights) and tobacco use among middle school and high school students. Only state-wide estimates are available.
Fit Together NC (www.fittogethernc.org) Sponsored by the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina the site links North Carolinians to tools for healthier weight and lifestyles. It provides information for consumers and health professionals, including tool kits for schools, neighborhoods, work and health care settings.
