SUMMITS

The Pediatric Healthy Weight Research and Treatment Center sponsored its first summit in 2003 as a way to introduce the center to the local community and ECU faculty. In 2005, the center began sponsoring summits annually. The summits are a forum for academic researchers, community groups and the public to learn more about ways to help children and youth achieve a healthy weight. Click on the links below to learn more about each summit.

SEMINARS & PRESENTATIONS

In January 2005, the PHWRTC launched a bi-monthly seminar series called the Pediatric Healthy Weight Forum. The center also sponsors or participates in presentations across the ECU campus.

Pediatric Healthy Weight Forums:

The Pediatric Healthy Weight Forum is changing its standing schedule. As of Fall 2006, the forum will be held on the second and fourth Monday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Room 2E-100, Brody Medical Sciences Building.

At each forum, ECU faculty and invited speakers share their research or programs to expand the knowledge of childhood obesity in the region and facilitate future collaboration.

If you are interested in learning more about the forum or would like to make a presentation, please contact Yancey Crawford, MPH, Program Coordinator.
