A new Post-doctoral Scholar position in spinal cord research is available immediately in the Department of Physiology at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University, in Greenville, NC, in the laboratory of Dr. Stefan Clemens.
A main thrust of the research in the laboratory is geared towards understanding the dynamics of dopamine actions in the spinal cord and is related Restless Legs Syndrome, aging-induced changes in the autonomic system, and the synergistic effects of dopamine and opioids on chronic pain in identified spinal circuits.

Job Requirements
Successful candidates must have a PhD and a publication record demonstrating expertise in one or more of the aforementioned areas (electrophysiology, Dopamine neurobiology, RLS). Familiarity with the neuromodulation of neural networks, including Central Pattern Generators, is an asset. Start date is flexible.
