Combined Medicine-Psychiatry Residency

How to Apply

All applications are processed through ERAS only. Please make sure the following information is included:

  • Dean's Letter
  • Medical School Transcript
  • USMLE Transcript - Step 1, Step 2 CK and CS must be completed
  • Three letters of recommendations including one from the Chairman of either the Department of Medicine or the Department of Psychiatry
  • Personal Statement
  • VISA status - J1 VISAS are the only sponsored visas
  • Experience in US hospitals
  • Graduation date - within 5 years of application year

We enjoy meeting prospective residents and upon receipt of the above material, selected applicants will be requested to arrange a mutually convenient weekday for interviews at East Carolina University. Final acceptance to the program is at the discretion of the chairman of the department and the director of residency training, upon the advice of the residency advisory committee.

Initial appointment to the program is for one year, and reappointment for each subsequent year is based on the resident's performance.
